Insight Global Director of Quality in Amite, Louisiana

Job Description

The Director of Quality is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality management system. This role is an onsite role, the candidate must be local to Amite, Louisiana. The role involves overseeing the quality assurance and regulatory compliance functions as well as driving continual improvement and ensuring product excellence. This person will report to the COO & manage the quality teams at all locations. Currently, we have 23 employees on QC teams between both locations. There is a possibility that this person could be in the DFW area & travel.

Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS):

 Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System in accordance with AISC, AWS and other relevant standards.

 Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

 Conduct regular audits and management reviews to ensure the effectiveness of the QMS.

Quality Control:

 Oversee the inspection and testing of materials and fabricated products to ensure quality standards are met.

 Implement and monitor quality control procedures and policies.

 Manage the development and execution of quality assurance plans for new product introductions and modifications.

Continual Improvement:

 Lead continual improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen.

 Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of quality and continual improvement.

Team Leadership:

 Manage and mentor the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.

 Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and customer focus within the team and across the organization.

Customer Relations:

 Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer inquiries and complaints.

 Investigate and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

 Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.

Regulatory Compliance:

 Stay current on industry regulations and standards.

 Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and audits.

Performance Metrics:

 Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality assurance processes.

 Report on quality performance to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

 Analyze data and trends to proactively address quality issues and improve overall performance.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Metallurgy, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.

 Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

 Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred.

 Strong knowledge of AISC and AWS standards and regulatory requirements specific to steel fabrication.

 Proven experience with quality improvement tools and methodologies.

 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. null
