Insight Global Director of DevSecOps in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

As a key member of the Software Development & Operations team, this person will lead the team responsible for Compute, Messaging, Virtualization, SaaS Applications. This person reports to the VP of Software Development and Operations.

This person is responsible for leading on premise data center strategy, cloud infrastructure strategy, infrastructure DevSecOps activities, solution design, implementation, administration, availability, performance.

This Director will be very hands on with all DevSecOps responsibilities, while managing a small team of 2-3 other developers for the first year. After about a year, this person will progressively gain more responsibility and lead a larger team.

75% hands on, 25% management

This division works on media distribution processes and warehouses where they transcodes into 20 components to Netflix, Hulu, and other outlets.

Strategic Management: Executes IT strategy, shapes business needs, and integrates new technologies.

Management: Builds stakeholder relationships, aligns budget with strategy, and fosters team innovation.

Governance: Establishes ITSM best practices and contributes to technology governance.

Innovation: Introduces infrastructure enhancements and aligns IT with business value.

Vendor Management: Manages vendor selection and maintains service provider relationships.

People Management: Develops leadership and supports team career progression.

Change Management: Mitigates change disruption and improves customer satisfaction processes.

Skills and Requirements

  • 10 years of experience with 3-5 years of solid leadership experience

  • Experience with video media formats and files --> previous media operation experience preferred

  • Experience managing teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels.

  • Ability to launch and deliver projects on time and on budget.

  • Bachelors Degree

* Cloud architecture and solutions design utilizing AWS and Azure (data storing in AWS)

* Understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure

* Ability to apply Agile and SCRUM techniques to project management

* Managing infrastructure DevSecOps activities

* Familiar with Kubernetes multi cluster management

* Storage Area Networks and associated Block, File, and SAN technologies from vendors such as Brocade, HP, EMC, NetApp, or IBM

* Management of DNS both on-premise and in the cloud

* Experience using Jira and Confluence * Continuing professional education in the areas of leadership and organizational development

* Training and Certification in Project Management highly desired

* Training and Certification in ITILv3 Service Lifecycle Management highly desired

* Virtualization technologies such as VMware null
