Job Description

Job Summary: As an AWS EKS Principal Solution Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure Kubernetes clusters within our organization. You will play a pivotal role in automating cluster setup and maintenance, ensuring governance in a shared environment, and spearheading the deployment of applications to AWS EKS. The right individual will be an expert in AWS EKS and will have the capacity to direct developments teams how to set up EKS, provide direction in the correct policies to use, will lead the execution, and own strategic for the plan to enable this to be a platform to scale.

Responsibilities:

Develop strategic plans for setting up and maintaining Kubernetes clusters for a large organization, focusing on automation, scalability, and reliability.

Provide expertise in governance within a shared AWS EKS environment, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Serve as a technical expert and subject matter expert (SME) on AWS EKS, guiding teams on platform usage, cluster structuring, policy implementation, and execution.

Design and oversee the deployment of new applications to AWS EKS, managing the infrastructure and ensuring successful launches.

Educate and mentor internal teams on AWS EKS best practices, enabling them to deploy applications independently.

Utilize automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to streamline infrastructure management and application deployment processes.

This is a fully remote position offering 95/hr. - 110/hr. determined during the interview process by the hiring manager.

Skills and Requirements

7-10 years of AWS EKS experience in a large enterprise environment.

7+ years of experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools like Terraform and Cloud Formation.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to infrastructure and application deployment.

Experience with the following scripting languages: Golang, Python, or C# null
