Job Description

A client of ours is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to join our global Data Operations team. The DBRE will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. As a crucial member of our organization, the DBRE will work closely with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to implement best practices and continuously improve our database infrastructure.

Skills and Requirements

  • Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.

     - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

     - Strong knowledge of SQL Server database management best practices, including installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.

     - Demonstrated proficiency in automation utilizing coding/scripting languages.

     - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Willingness and availability to work on-call schedules. - Familiarity with one or more of the following relational databases: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL.

 - Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

 - Understanding of high availability architecture, such as SQL Server AlwaysOn.

 - Experience with version control, particularly git.

 - Proficiency in DevOps Pipelines, including platforms like Azure, Jenkins, etc.

 - Demonstrated experience working with large-scale, multi-terabyte database systems.

Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell or other similar tools. null
