Insight Global Director of Lab in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado

Job Description

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Laboratory Department. Activities included are performance of tests performed in the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Ensure that services are of the best quality, are cost contained and are carried out in an expedient manner. Additional responsibilities include recognizing results or problems that require referral to the Pathologist.

Complies with department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, Safety and Infection Control, and all Federal and State of Colorado regulations related to the performance of Keefe Memorial Hospital operations and requirements of the compliance program.

  • Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement Quality Assurance activities.

  • Establishes and maintains standards of performance and ensures competency and appropriate licensure of personnel.

  • Initiates improved methods of services and directs their implementation.

  • Maintains compliant processes and supporting procedures to ensure compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for mandatory certification.

  • Establishes parameters and protocols for reporting abnormal results to the Pathologist.

  • Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.

  • Analyzes laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results.

  • Enters data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into computer for storage.

  • Sets up, operates, calibrates, cleans, and maintains equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Establishes and monitors quality assurance programs and activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results.

  • Provides technical information about test results to physicians, patients, and family members.

  • Collects and studies blood samples to determine the number of cells, their morphology, or their blood group, blood type and compatibility for transfusion purposes.

  • Manages and operates laboratory equipment safely and correctly.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Permanent Hourly Pay Rate: $40.00 - 55.24

Skills and Requirements

  • 5 or more years of Managerial or Supervisory experience in their previous roles
