Insight Global Transportation Professional Manager / Technical Civil Leader in Christiansburg, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Transportation Professional Manager / Technical Civil Leader with experience in the design of highway and urban roadway projects to be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in our Richmond, VA or Norfolk, VA office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and supervise/mentor a team of Civil Transportation engineers and technicians. This is an opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our Transportation Market and the civil expertise within our well established and growing firm.

Day-to-day:

 Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subconsultants management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.

 Mentor and engage with staff

 Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving client value

 Oversee projects technically with all aspects of transportation design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design

 Collaborate and manage with structural/bridge, water resources, environmental, geotechnical, survey, traffic professionals, and other designers to lead and complete project deliverables

 Oversee and lead business development pursuits, designate the appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address client concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering

 10+ years experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for Highways

 VDOT experience with current relationships

 Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in VA

 Proficiency in design software specifically OpenRoads

 Project experience in leading multi-disciplinary design, permitting and/or construction projects in the Transportation Market

 Management experience

 Experience with detailed roadway / highway design for State Departments of Transportation and municipalities including the development of construction documents, and support services.

 Ability to assess and resolve issues and conflicts internally and externally.

 Follow internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews

 Work well managing virtual teams and willingly work with the appropriate resources regardless of location

 Work with national in-house group of civil transportation engineers to support the growth in cutting edge innovation, learning, work sharing and resourcing

 Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

 Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment null
