Insight Global SR Platform Engineer (Middleware) in Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Description
A large financial organization is seeking a SR Platform Engineer for a contract opportunity through the end of the year (with likelihood for extensions or conversion). This position can sit remotely (EST), but there is a strong preference for individuals local to Cincinnati that are able to come onsite downtown 4-5x week.
This individual will be working with an agile squad currently being built out to support the companys payment services within their web-hosted Treasury Management platform. They will play a crucial role in modernizing the platform including helping with the integration of other applications into centralized platform.
Collaborate with development teams to design, build, and maintain a resilient and secure engineering platform. This platform provides standardized, reusable tools and functionalities for software engineers.
Help with infrastructure management components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance including SOME cloud services, containers, and orchestration tools
Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align platform capabilities with business needs

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience within platform or middleware engineering:
Deploying, integrating, configuring and supporting applications (payment services applications ++)
Can deploy and run tests to make sure the integrations work
Java (version 11+) for deployment of java-based applications, API management, and support
Middleware (WebSphere or MQ)
API Management / gateway- Experience creating, consuming, and integrating from API systems
SQL * Banking industry experience -- Visa, Amex or specifically working within Payment services or transactions
* Cloud (AWS)
* Containerization experience
* Openshift null
