Insight Global Aerospace/Autonomy Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Job Description

A well-known Government supporting company is seeking an Aerospace/Autonomy Engineer to join their team for a contract to hire role. This person will be a part of a team that is responsible for developing practical single and multi-vehicle autonomous solutions across a variety of projects. It will be a mix of hands on development/integration when needed but will also be assisting the team lead on some higher level strategy plans, joining meetings with leadership and will have the responsibility to take back ideas and explain to the teams the plan moving forward. It will look like a 70/30 split with development. This person will need to feel comfortable wearing multiple hats when it comes to the division and will need to be flexible on what is needed that week. One week might be for software development focused- helping create new features, elevating current code etc. One might be more validation and testing or helping assist the planning of a flight test. Another week might be more meeting based, team collaboration, strategy sessions etc.

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelors in aerospace, electrical, computer engineering or equivalent

- 6+ years experience in developing algorithms within aviation systems

  C, C++, Python, Java, and Matlab

- Experience within the Autonomy field

- Ability to get a clearance - Security Clearance

  • Experience with aviation systems

  • UAV experience- huge plus

  • Experience with Human-autonomy interactions in UAV systems

  • Experience planning and executing flight tests

  • Experience involving verification and validation techniques such as "Formal Methods"

  • Experience in strategy, game planning, suggesting ideas, plans, working with leadership etc null
