Insight Global QA Specialist in Destrehan, Louisiana

Job Description

An EPC firm in Destrehan, LA, is seeking a Quality Control Lead to join their team at a client site. This individual will need to have experience with quality tasks, but also need to be responsible for planning and managing the overall QA plan. This individual will be the focal point for quality control on the project, site contractors, and equipment vendors.

Equipment Vendor Quality Control will include the below:

 - Review and approve equipment vendor inspection plans

 - Manage / update our equipment inspection program including updates to our equipment inspection tracking tool.

 - Define inspection work scopes for equipment vendor visits (gathering input from technical team as needed to contribute to inspection work scopes).

 - Get quotes for 3rd party inspection companies as required and coordinate with procurement for issuance of POs

 - Coordinate equipment vendor inspection visits by the project technical team and 3rd parties, including alignment on timing with vendors.

 - Review equipment vendor inspection reports and coordinate with project technical staff and project management to ensure negative findings are address.

Construction Quality Control will include the below:

 - Understands and ensures the RCI Quality Manual and Procedures are utilized.

 - Shall have a number of QC duties that are required to complete in oversight of Craft Construction that are detailed in the RCI Quality Manual and Procedures.

 - The Quality Control Lead shall provide Field and Craft Supervision with support and ensure the implementation of RCI's Quality Policy.

 - Review and approve site contractor inspection plans (ITPs).

 - Participate in inspections (hold, witness, monitor). Coordinate with other team members they need to be involved with inspections.

 - Pro-actively identifies and communicates gaps in QAQC compliance to reduce systemic risks in construction work processes at the Site(s).

 - Review construction inspection reports and ensure finding are resolved with input from Project / Construction Management.

 - Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all quality related matters on the Job Site(s).

 - Overall responsibility for auditing, surveillance, and monitoring of all quality related project activities.

 - Support Field and Craft Supervision's implementation and communication of all project quality requirements in a proactive manner.

Communicate deficiencies with Field and Craft Supervision, to help and facilitate corrective actions as required

Skills and Requirements

American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification(s)

8+ years of Quality experience in Projects, Turnarounds, or in Maintenance of Industrial Work Sites

Familiar with welding, inspection, tank inspections, electrical and instrumentation

Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings

Ability to reference applicable industry codes or specifications and understand the required inspection procedures null
