Insight Global Fire Investigation Analyst in Edmonton, Alberta

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Fire Investigation Analyst to join one of Alberta's largest Utility clients on a 6-month contract (with high potential to extend) sitting out of either Edmonton or Calgary, AB. The Fire Investigation Analyst will be responsible for timely field visits to conduct fire cause and origin investigations. The successful candidate must be willing to travel across Alberta to perform investigations, requiring occasional weekend and/or overnight travel.

Some duties/responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 - Providing unbiased analysis and consultation on various fires and explosions

 - Conduct client interactions, often working with sensitive and confidential information

 - Must be willing to provide expert testimony and/or depositions on an as needed basis

  • Write and submit detailed reports on completed investigations in accordance with company guidelines

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

 - 5+ years experience as a Fire Investigator, with a focus on Rural fires (rather than Urban)

 - Has previously investigated cause and origin of minimum 20 wildland fires

 - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

 - Possess a valid drivers license and vehicle

 - Must be willing to work on weekends, evenings and holidays (as-needed)

  • Previously completed wildfire investigation training (IAAI Fundamentals of Fire Investigation, Fire Investigation Technician Certification, FI-310 training, or similar) Pluses:

     - Previous experience working as a firefighter

  • Knowledge of provincial and/or federal laws (related to the field) null
