Insight Global Project Manager in Edmonton, Alberta

Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Project Manager to join one of Alberta's largest utility providers on a 6-month contract with high potential to extend, sitting out of Edmonton, Alberta (with a requirement to work 3-days in office). The team the Project Manager will be joining is currently in the midst of a 'grid modernization program' that has a goal of taking devices that are out on the line and replacing them with new telecommunications and SCADA devices. This Project Manager will work on several large distribution projects, which include overseeing current system upgrades and leading new customer connections. The successful candidate will have experience in conducting budget reviews, forecasting and making sure all approvals are in place for projects (ex. land approvals, ensuring the land is properly surveyed and designed, making sure all required materials are ordered...etc).

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

 - Minimum 5+ years experience working as a Project Manager within Construction, Operations or Engineering fields

 - Experience working with Unifier or MS Project

 - Experience working with SharePoint

 - Ability to understand engineering/construction documents and ensure all approvals are in place

 - Ability to effectively communicate with external parties (customers, consultants or government agencies)

  • PMP certified Plusses:

     - APEGA certified preferred

  • Previous working experience with a Utility company null
