Job Description
One of Insight Global's technology clients is hiring for a System Operator to sit in Fairfield, CA. This position is responsible and accountable for the operation of all utility assets including; traditional Utility assets such as Power Plants, Transmission, Distribution, Substation, as well as non-utility "behind the meter" assets, DERs, BESS, and EV infrastructure both U.S. based and globally. Some responsibilities include:
* Responsible for the continual real time operations of all Power Plants, Transmission and Distribution, DERMS, and Micro Grids covering all voltage levels (HV, MV and LV).
* Maintain safe and environmentally sustainable operation of grid network.
* Monitor the implementation of safety procedures through the safety section under his/her jurisdiction.
* Execute economic dispatch of all plant in compliance with regulatory standards, customer needs and the market as a whole (tariff differentiation).
* Optimize the operation of power plant production while maximizing business results.
* Direct the generation programming and dispatching to comply with daily demand or availability forecasts.
* Coordinate load management/demand side manage responsibilities with members.
* Respond to RRO & client directives.
The compensation for the role varies depending upon relevant experience, level of education, certifications, etc but can range from 55-80/hr.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
* Must know power supply/power grid operations, economic dispatch of generation resources, and transmission & distribution.
* Must be NERC BA Certified within 3-6 months of employment. NERC Operator certification is required.
* Must be willing to work rotating shifts independently, DuPont Schedule.
* Motivated and energetic personality.
Trainee Must Haves:
* Bachelor's (Masters Preferred) in Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
* Willing to study and become NERC BA Certified within 3-6 months of employment.
* Passionate about the mission for Renewable energy and committed to long shift hours Plusses
* Control room operations experience.
* Has taken courses on the following: Power systems, control systems, transmission & distribution, interconnection studies, grid compliance.
* Passionate about renewable energy null
