Job Description

Insight Global is seeking Instrumentation Technicians to join one of our top clients in the energy industry in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate will have an Associates or Tech School Degree, or military experience (electrical, hands-on background). The engineers will be working alongside the dynamics technicians to install instrumentation equipment and troubleshoot any issues involved with turbine testing. The primary focus of this role is to: run tests at customer sites to ensure efficiency of turbines, coordinate with manufacturing and vendors to ensure instrumentation is assembled correctly during operations, work with other teams to design/apply instrumentation methods for gas turbine hardware, manage validations projects alongside other teams, and review budgets/schedules/drawings. Some other aspects of this role require installing of cables in cable trays, packing/shipping/setting up test equipment, and traveling as needed for about 80% of the time. This is an extremely fast-paced role with opportunity for growth, so the client is seeking someone with an eagerness to learn. This is a contract position with the opportunity to go full-time once the candidate has shown competency in the role. The standard hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm EST, with overtime and weekend work when traveling.

Skills and Requirements

* Associates or Tech School Degree in Engineering related field

* Knowledgeable with calibrating and testing industrial equipment

* Ability to travel up to 80% - domestic and international

* Field locations can be intense environments, so must be comfortable being active and working long hour days when traveling

* Instrumentation Knowledge (Accelerometers, Strain Gages, PCBs, Thermocouples, oscilloscopes, etc.)

* Strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities and cable management

* Ability to learn on the job (a lot of processes, tools, & technologies are specific to the client, so you will be trained up in all areas)

* Ability to follow step-by-step processes, documentation, and diagrams * Military background is a plus (working with industrial equipment) null
