Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a QA Tester in Houston, Texas to work for a large oilfield services company. They will work with a global team with other testers, development support, and domain experts. This person will design, develop, and execute integration test cases to validate the interaction between different system components or services. They will create and maintain detailed test plans, including scope, objectives, and resource requirements for integration testing. They will also identify, document, and track defects while working with development teams to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve integration issues. This person will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the clients products and integrations and supporting all aspects of our QA Team processes with the goal of improving the overall user experience. This position is ideally suited for a mission-driven person who is resourceful and flexible, comfortable with fact finding in the face of ambiguity, organized, detail oriented and an expert communicator both verbally and in writing. This person will be responsible for the data validation testing of the edge devices and ensuring that integrated systems and components work together seamlessly. They will be ensuring the data is coming in, within the parameters, asking questions to help figure out the issue if they aren't, ensuring the data is flowing at the right speed then ensuring the data can be used in a consumable manner for applications. They will be doing both manual and automation testing, so the experience with any background in programming would be extremely beneficial. This person will be on scrum meetings and working in core US business hours with the entire team (some overlap from the global team). They will use excellent time-management skills and ability to manage and respond to multiple requests coming from numerous stakeholders. They may be the primary point contact or liaison with business stakeholders. This person will be working 2-3 days onsite/week to perform testing in the COE. The targeted contract pay rate is $55 - $65/hour.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in a testing role (manual and/or automation)

Experience in testing in cloud solutions

Strong experience in validating data on edge devices

Automation programming experience (python, etc.)

Experience with Azure DevOps for test management

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Candidate must have English communication and technical writing skills necessary to produce formal test specifications and test plans based off functional, design and requirements specifications

Extremely motivated self starting individual and willing to ask questions and speak out

Understand priorities when testing multiple issues and projects under strict timelines. Oil and Gas industry direct experience

Experience leading/managing a team while still technical

Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress) null
