Job Description
An engineering firm is seeking a Drafter to join their team Portland, OR. The role of Electrical & Controls Drafter requires the candidate to exhibit proficiency with specified software, experience in creating loop diagrams and designing control panels, as well as knowledge of pertinent codes and standards. These skills will be applied to projects across various industries including pulp and paper, industrial, power and chemical markets. Additional qualifications and responsibilities are detailed below.
* Prepare and/or modify drafts within AutoCAD.
* Collaborate with internal Project Managers, Engineers and Designers to understand appropriate edits and changes.
* Prepare complex layouts, circuit diagrams, sketches and drawings relating to new and modified equipment specifications, as well as from customer engineering interpretation to the general order (CAD).
* Prepare necessary information to ensure efficient and timely material procurement, manufacturing testing, and installation of assemblies.
* Compile data required for project assignments and develop specifications, reports, and other related written documents as required.
* Maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to review and discuss diagrams, modifications, adjustments, and progress of work relating to the design and manufacture of equipment.

Skills and Requirements
2-4 years in BIM drafting
* Strong professional experience in Plant 3D and AutoCAD
* Electrical or instrumentation and controls background
* Professional experience creating one-line diagrams, loop diagrams, ladder diagrams, panel schedules, electrical and instrument plan views in drafting platforms
* Experience in 3D routing of cable tray and/or other raceways * Experience supporting industrial, high tech, and commercial/or projects
* Degree in draft/design OR electrical/instrumentation and controls focused study
* Familiarity with Navisworks null
