Insight Global Accountant, Insurance in Leawood, Kansas
Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for areas such as financial management, regulatory compliance, and intercompany transactions. This can include:
1. Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing financial statements specific to the captive insurance entity, ensuring they reflect all insurance transactions accurately1.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all accounting practices meet the insurance industry's regulatory standards, which may include both local and international regulations2.
3. Transaction Management: Handling premium collections, claim payments, and investment activities related to the premiums received.
4. Intercompany Coordination: Working closely with the parent telecom company to manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, including premiums paid and claims received.
5. Risk Assessment: Collaborating with risk management teams to assess and report on the financial impact of various risks insured by the captive.
6. Audit Preparation: Preparing for regular audits, which could be comprehensive regulatory audits or desk reviews of financial statements.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates on the captive's financial status and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
The role requires a good understanding of both the insurance and accounting, as well as expertise in specialized accounting practices for captive insurance. It's a dynamic position that plays a crucial role in the financial health and risk management strategy of the company.

Skills and Requirements
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Experience at a large company (big 4, second tier accounting firm, company $1B+ in revenue)
- Experience with captive insurance accounting.
- Advanced excel experience. - CPA or eligible
- Telecom industry experience null
