Job Description
The day-to-day responsibilities of a Senior Accountant on the corporate accounting team are multifaceted and involve a range of activities focused on financial reporting, analysis, and oversight. Here's what a typical day might include:
* Analyzing Financial Reports: Reviewing complex financial records and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Reviewing Journal Entries: Overseeing the work of junior accountants, ensuring that all journal entries are accurate and reflect the correct financial transactions.
* Training and Mentoring: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff, helping them develop their accounting skills and knowledge.
* Variance Analysis: Performing analyses to identify discrepancies between expected and actual financial performance.
* Account Reconciliations: Preparing reconciliations for various accounts to ensure that the general ledger accurately reflects all business transactions.
* Financial Reporting: Preparing financial reports that may include income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Maintaining the General Ledger: Ensuring that the general ledger is up to date and accurately represents the company's financial position.
* Assisting with Audits: Working with internal and external auditors to provide the necessary documentation and explanations for financial statements.
* Strategic Planning: Collaborating with company executives to discuss financial strategies and make forecasting decisions based on financial data.
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the financial health of the company, providing expertise in complex accounting activities and financial analyses.

Skills and Requirements
- 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Experience at a large company (big 4, second tier accounting firm, company $1B+ in revenue)
- Experience with employee related accounting.
- Advanced excel experience. - CPA or eligible
- Telecom industry experience null
