Insight Global SCADA Engineer in Lexington, Kentucky

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a SCADA Engineer for an extended contract opportunity for a large utility company headquartered out of Louisville, KY. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of power transmission systems. Overall responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the performance of substations, monitoring equipment, and optimizing grid operations. Primary responsibilities of this SCADA Engineer are collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA components into existing infrastructure and ensuring communication between field devices, RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), and the central SCADA control center. They are also responsible for monitoring real-time data from substations, analyze alarms, and perform regular maintenance and patches, and ensure compliance with industry standards (NERC CIP, IEEE, etc.) related to SCADA systems.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.

Professional working experience in SCADA system design, configuration, and implementation.

Experience implementing SCADA components into existing infrastructure. Knowledge of substation equipment, protection relays, and communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850).

Familiarity with power system operations, transmission networks, and grid control. null
