Insight Global Asbestos Lead in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Description

As a Senior Asbestos Lead you will lead our asbestos and industrial hygiene (IH) collection and testing efforts for our clients as well as oversee and monitor projects. You will work with our asbestos and IH groups to ensure that work is being performed on time, on budget, and to meet our client's requirements and in accordance with our company policies, procedures and standards. You and the team will work together to prepare winning proposals for asbestos sampling and abatement oversight, lead and/or other hazardous materials surveys, industrial hygiene/IAQ/mold projects, and will help to deliver proper scoping of services, availability of staff, and profitable pricing. You will prepare and review reports documenting surveys and abatement projects for clients and will coach and mentor junior staff on quality data generation and reporting. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Help lead safety efforts and ensure the Group follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment, demonstrating safety practices, and promoting pre-task planning for all projects.

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates.

  • Perform and/or lead field surveys for asbestos, lead-containing paint, IAQ, mold and other regulated hazardous substances.

  • Responsible for conducting and/or leading site IH sampling, results analysis and interpretation, conducting IH exposure assessments, documenting site activities, and making written recommendations relative to health and safety on projects with a variety of complex features including chemical use and potential generation of by products.

  • Prepare reports documenting the findings of surveys and communicating findings and recommendations to clients.

  • Review technical to ensure quality and accuracy of reported findings.

  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risks. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the company. Be familiar with company risk policies.

  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.

  • With support from the Department/Office manager, perform business and client development activities.

Skills and Requirements

8-10 years of experience in industrial hygiene practice and asbestos

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental or other Engineering, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related discipline that would meet Asbestos certification requirements

Asbestos License in Kentucky and Indiana (KYAC or INAC)

Has worked as a asbestos hazard abandonment superviser, asbestos management planner or abatement designer

Experience developing specs and plans

Valid driver's license, and insurable driving record Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certification and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification

AHERA-Certified Asbestos Building Inspector, Management Planner and Project Designer

EPA Certified Lead-Based Paint Inspector and Risk Assessor

Licensed Mold Assessor

Solid understanding of EPA, OSHA, and Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint Regulations

Solid background in conducting Mold and Indoor Air Quality assessments null
