Insight Global Field Supervisor in Montevallo, Alabama

Job Description

In the field daily, going out to project sites and doing inspection work behind construction crews and look at what has been built and check for violations. Manage all reporting and ensuring all proper reporting is being documented.

 Responsibilities

o Ability to inspect aerial and buried fiber construction. Accurately records documentation critical to daily operations.

o Liaising with engineering and project management teams to ensure that designs are accurate before work commences.

o Acting as the main point of communication between field operations and the office.

o Providing leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and customers.

o Ensuring that safety policies are strictly followed.

o Reviewing project progress with management to ensure that deadlines are met.

o Conducts site audits to evaluate and identify issues affecting the project.

o Ensures that all necessary permits are obtained by the contractor and kept active for the duration of the project.

o Conducts EPC contractor audits during and upon completion of project and ensures that any defects are reported to the manager and corrected prior to handover.

o Monitor project progress and identify any impacts to short-term and long-term construction schedule and report to manager

o Communicates to the manager all necessary project information, changes to scopes of work, changes in schedules, safety issues, and/or any issues that may affect personnel, client relationships, projects, or Company.

o Availability to travel as needed. (Minimum travel required)

o Ability to monitor service orders as they move through the tracking system.

o Oversee ONT and fiber inventory management and reporting, warehouse receiving and deployment, and perform regular audits of inventory.

o Submit and reconcile material purchase orders with managers approval.

o Responds to all first level drop escalations.

o Ability to effectively communicate all program duties and details.

o Organize daily operations and tracking for commercial/MDU drops.

o Will be required to do residential field audits which may require exposure to moderate noise levels, dogs or other animals, construction areas, or the public in general.

o Investigates any potentially serious field situations and supports where required.

Skills and Requirements

* Proficient on a computer (reports are 90% of the daily job- project work and send out drops, etc.)

* 3-5 years of utility construction experience (fiber or copper ideally, or underground aerial)

* 1-2 years of construction management (supervising contractors on job sites) * Working knowledge of construction (drilling side of fiber, aerial placement, etc.)

* Experience on design side (reading blueprints etc.) null
