Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

Active Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) License

 Bachelors in related field (Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, etc.)

 5+ years of experience within Commercial Safety / Industrial Hygiene

 Strong familiarity w/ OSHA Requirements

o Training Standards

o Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

o HAZCOM Program creation

o PPE / Hearing Conservation Standards

 Experience training employees to adhere to safety protocols

 Strong technical writing and oral presentation/communication skills Overview:

Insight Global is in search of a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to support one of our largest Engineering Consulting clients in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This resource will be supporting the oversight of the construction of the manufacturing floor, as well as the manufacturing operations post-completion. In addition to the supervision of construction and manufacturing operations, this resource will be responsible for the creation of various types of Health and Safety SOPs, best practices, and emergency scenario plans related but not limited to; HAZCOM, PPE, & Hearing Conservation Standards. The end client is developing a prototype for cutting edge energy technology, and this resource will be an integral part of this innovative program.

Day to Day:

 Provide onsite and offsite safety and health support to clients

 Prepare or review Health and Safety Plan documents for assigned projects.

 Ability to use of monitoring/sampling instrumentation; technical expertise in selection of hazard controls including engineering, administrative controls and personal protective equipment

 Possess and maintain expertise with health, safety and environmental regulations and standards, with an emphasis on federal OSHA regulations.

 Prepare or review task-specific job/activity hazard assessments to identify potential hazards and appropriate hazard controls

 Lead/perform HSE audits and assessments (internally and for clients)

 Lead/assist in incident investigations

 Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs policies, procedures, and action plans, including employee training

 Provide technical expertise and support to HSE topics including:

 Conduct occupational exposure assessments, including air sampling and monitoring, noise, ergonomics, radiation, and others

 HSE project and program auditing

 Conduct task-specific hazard assessments

 Develop hazard Communication SOPs

 Lead indoor air quality testing

 Training development and presentation null
