Insight Global Data Analyst in Redmond, Washington

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cleaning all data on materials, testing, and prototyping, to be entered into a larger custom-built database. This includes materials (primarily textiles/yarns), suppliers, mechanical test data, electrical test data, prototypes and more. The ideal candidate must work with a highly cross-functional team to extract and compile data, and must also be able to connect/correlate different data sets to each other. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in custom database building to join a dynamic and growing organization. Initially the role will focus primarily on data entry before any work on a database will be possible.

  • Prepare and clean materials, testing, and prototyping data for entry into a larger custom-built database

  • Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness

  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies and errors

  • Maintain accurate records and files

  • Work across a multidisciplinary team to connect different data sets to each other

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelors in Software Engineering, Data Management or equivalent experience

      * 2+ years of experience in custom database building and data management

      * Experience with Python and SQL, to automate data entry tasks and manipulate data in databases

      * Familiarity with RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle databases

      * Familiarity with textile materials, processing, and construction

Understanding of database design principles, including data modeling, normalization, and schema design null
