Insight Global Remote Contract Agent (Electric Operations) in San Diego, California
Job Description
A company in San Diego is looking for a Contract Agent to join their Supply Management group within the Electric Operations portfolio. The team works closely with the Engineering, Inventory & Logistics, and Portfolio & Project Management teams. The team's focus is to progress plans for categories such as poles, transformers, freight, material distributors, and circuit breakers. The team is responsible for strategically sourcing equipment, direct negotiations with incumbent suppliers, executing new agreements, and creation of a high volume of material purchase orders. The candidate will be working with large, diverse cross functional teams (Project Management, Engineering, Inventory & Logistics, etc.) and should be able to provide examples of leading teams to successful outcomes in the past.
"Day In The Life": The average day will consist of a mix of tactical work (creating purchase orders, setting up a bid event in a e-tool, drafting amendments, creating Ariba contract workspaces, etc.) and strategic work. Each day will be a bit different. Strategic work includes but is not limited to working with counsel to review redlines to key contractual terms, developing a nuanced pricing workbook with a project team, conducting pricing analysis, conducting market analysis, working with a team to assess options on how to respond to supplier requests for contract changes and customizing exhibits in anticipation of an RFP launch.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience in contracting and strategic sourcing (processing amendments, release orders, cutting POs, cradle to grave RFP management, etc.)
Experience working within Ariba (contract management and sourcing modules is preferred) Local to San Diego and able to be hybrid null
