Job Description

Our Media Tech client is seeking a Program Manager to join their engagement and Experience Platform team. They're responsible for developing and operating the direct to consumer video businesses globally, as well as provide critical consumer facing access and identification services across all lines of business. This team manages the backend Messaging Platform, which is a shared service across all streaming divisions. This role will work with backend engineering teams, as well as UI stakeholders.

This Technical Program Manager role is a mid-level program position that will drive efficiency and coordination to support the Lifecycle Messaging platform services engineering UI squad as well as support cross functional initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical program management support to the engineering teams and assist where needed in overall program coordination throughout the User Foundations organization.

  • Manage technical teams, serve in scrum ceremonies, and provide release support as needed.

  • Lead planning meetings, scrum ceremonies and cross functional coordination.

  • Proactively work with product management and other project stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, define project scope and objectives, understand requirements, and effectively communicate requirements to engineering teams to drive projects forward.

  • Work with engineering teams and leadership to establish processes that will ensure success on high priority business initiatives and improve efficiency.

  • Manage program reporting for engineering efforts.

  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate project risks to internal and external partners.

  • Ensure Jira hygiene for all initiatives including the recording and tagging of tickets to the appropriate business initiatives and releases.

  • Create and maintain Jira reports, dashboards, burndowns, and track velocity.

  • Demonstrate technical adeptness to understand and effectively converse in the User Foundations domain.

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders and leverage these to develop an understanding of their short-term and long-term goals and priorities to ensure organizational alignment.

  • Manage schedules and capacity planning to ensure the team can deliver within project scope and duration alongside other existing priorities.

Remote while on contract, needs to be near an office to have ability to convert FTE. Preference is NYC, LA or SF.

Pay range from $90-$93/hr

Skills and Requirements

Well-established in Technical Program Management, with 5+ years' experience in the software industry.

Experience working with technical scrum teams, software development lifecycle delivery, and release management particularly with back-end services teams.

Experience working with product and design and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and engage with engineering teams to drive projects forward.

Have in-depth experience executing Agile and other software development methodologies.

Have mastered industry-standard project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence.

Excel at working with project stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, and you are able to effectively communicate requirements to development teams.

Excel in leading effective meetings, planning, documenting decisions and follow up.

Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks to internal and external partners.

Display initiative, take a proactive approach, and are able to start the conversation and guide other program leads in process development. Consistently evaluating processes and seeking for ways to improve at every iteration.

Have developed essential soft skills including meeting leadership, communication, teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, problem solving, critical thinking, & conflict resolution.

Learn quickly and enthusiastically, particularly about technical systems and issues. null
