Job Description

The Migration Support Specialist/SharePoint Online Admin will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to site users and owners transitioning from Google Shared Drives and My Drives to SPO\Team Sites and OneDrives. This position requires a deep understanding of typical migration processes, platform differences, permission models, and content management capabilities within SharePoint Online platform. Additionally, the candidate should possess experience in site-level administration and management and have an understanding of common issues during post-migration cutover, ensuring a seamless transition for all stakeholders.

The candidate will also develop SharePoint training content targeting various levels (beginners, intermediate, advanced) and be comfortable delivering the training to wide audiences. Host Office Hours for dedicated one on one time with end users

Address and resolve any migration-related questions or issues that arise.

Provide expert guidance and technical support to users and owners throughout the migration process.

Possess an in-depth understanding of the permission model in SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.

Assist in configuring and managing permissions for various user roles

Serve as a subject matter expert on site administration, providing guidance to users on maximizing productivity as Power Users, Site Owners, or Regular Users.

Assist in managing and optimizing SharePoint Online Sites for efficient collaboration and content management.

Demonstrate detailed understanding of Teams and associated sites within Microsoft 365 Groups.

Provide support and guidance on utilizing Teams and associated sites for seamless collaboration.

Provide training and support on document versioning, metadata, and other content management best practices.

Possess experience with modern Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online Sites.

Demonstrate proficiency in SharePoint Online Object Model and PowerShell Module, and SharePoint Patterns and Practices (PNP) PowerShell.

Host Office Hours for dedicated one on one time with end users

Develop content and provide training targeted for delivery to wide audience (beginners, intermediate, advanced)

Skills and Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in SharePoint Online administration and support

  • Experience supporting migration-related questions/issues (permissions/access, embedded objects, notifications, etc.)

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving platform discrepancies between source Google Drives and destination M365 SPO Sites and OneDrive

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the permission model in SharePoint Online

  • Experience with managing permissions for various user roles

  • Experience providing guidance to users on maximizing productivity as Power Users, Site Owners, or Regular Users

  • Experience providing support and guidance on utilizing Teams and associated sites for seamless collaboration.

  • Experience providing training and support on document versioning, metadata, and other content management best practices.

  • Experience communicating with c-level executives
