Insight Global Microservices Developer in Vancouver, British Columbia
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Microservices Engineer for one of Canada's largest athletic retailers in Vancouver, BC, on a 6-month contract basis with the possibility to go long-term. In this role as the Microservice Engineer, you join the OMNI/OMS Fulfillment Solutions and will partner closely with the team's Lead Architect on delivering new feature development and maintenance of current features on their back-end OMS systems for the Digital Transactions group. They are requiring an engineer to be a main contributor to a lot of the strategy and solution design working with Solutions Architects and Team Leads. This role requires someone who is an expert with open-source microservices and will be responsible for helping lead scrum ceremonies, conducting code reviews, working on stories and retrospectives.

Skills and Requirements
* Over 8 years of back-end development experience; preferably coming from an enterprise environment.
* Extensive knowledge of open-source cloud architectures, REST APIs, and microservices
* Expertise with Java and Spring Boot applications deployed to an AWS cloud environment Order Management or OMS experience
Retail experience
Kafka & REST API development in high transaction rates
Container/Kubernetes null
